had the most amazing stay in kyoto! stayed at a beautiful ryokan in gion area. staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience truly authentic. loved the traditional futon beds, buckwheat hull pillows, and relaxing baths. felt like we stepped into a different world. highly recommend!
Low ceilings were a bit uncomfortable for taller guests.

Also, location was particularly good, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from Kyoto International Manga Museum. The room I booked was reasonably large and provided with a beautiful garden as well as the bedroom. The hotel staff was attentive, not annoying. This was my second excellent stay here and I would definitely book again.

Had a great experience at a traditional Ryokan in Kyoto. Loved the unique experience of staying in a room with tatami floors and a beautiful garden view. The attentive staff provided excellent service and the meals, both Japanese and Western options, were delicious. Conveniently located near the Geisha district and other popular sights in the city.
The bathroom and toilets felt a bit cramped and could have been more spacious. Additionally, the traditional Japanese breakfast may not be to everyone's taste, so having more options for breakfast would have been appreciated.

All good — we really enjoyed this traditional hotel — the food was outstanding and the staff were very helpful. Besides, the location was absolutely perfect and fantastic for our stay, within 25 minutes' walk of a historic wooden castle. The venue was in a shopping area.
